Job Description
The Student Engagement Support Specialist will play an integral role in the Office of Student Success and Diversity. You will assist the OSSD in creating a welcoming, organized and resourceful space for students. You will provide front desk coverage, maintain common areas, and support the planning and execution of office events and logistics. This role requires a positive and welcoming demeanor, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to the office’s mission to foster an inclusive space for all students.

Responsibilities:
  • Event Support and Setup: Assist in planning, setting up, and breaking down events, ensuring spaces are prepared and materials are available.
  • Administrative Assistance: Serve as a point of contact for students seeking information, resources, or support related to office services or events.
  • Front Desk Coverage: Staff the front desk and relay pertinent information from students, faculty, and staff to OSSD team members.
  • Space Supervision: Oversee the lobby and common areas, maintaining a safe, organized, and accessible space for student activities and study sessions during evening operating hours.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and restock office supplies, snacks, and essential inventory to ensure quality experience for student use. Communicating all inventory needs to staff as needed.

Federal Work/Study earnings will be paid biweekly in the form of a check or direct deposit payable to the student. This award does not credit to the account of the student as payment toward University charges.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as a student at the university
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications as needed
