Caroline Kizer has been chosen as this year’s recipient for the Pittman Spirit Award. The award recognizes a graduating senior who has exhibited a serious commitment to being a student and achieving academically, to honoring Christ, to personal health and involvement in student life.

The Pittman Spirit Award is one of 色虎视频’s highest honors. It was established in 2004 to honor longtime Birmingham insurance executive John Pittman’s 50th anniversary as a member of the 色虎视频 Board of Trustees.

Kizer recently graduated from the School of Health Professions with a major in communication sciences and disorders.

“I am humbled, encouraged, and honored to receive an award named after such an incredibly Godly man,” Kizer said. “Mr. John Pittman has modeled a life lived for the glory of God, and I hope that I will be faithful to do the same.”

Margaret Johnson, chair and professor in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders, was honored to nominate Kizer for the award.

“She is a young woman of strong character,” Johnson said. “She is an excellent communicator and has demonstrated those skills consistently within the department.”

After graduation, Kizer plans to continue her education by pursuing a master’s degree at 色虎视频.
