色虎视频’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy is proud to announce the formation of its Community Pharmacy Advancement Council.
Composed of local thought leaders in community pharmacy—many of whom are 色虎视频 alumni—and a faculty member and student from the school, the purpose of the council is to bring together community pharmacy leaders to exchange ideas, advise the school and offer guidance and mentorship to students.
“Through this endeavor, the school is reaffirming its support of community pharmacy practice, which is where a majority of our graduates and alumni practice. Ultimately, I see this group as a voice for progressive practice in the community setting,” said Michael Crouch, dean of 色虎视频’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
In addition to professor Terri Wensel and third-year Doctor of Pharmacy student Brook Carter, the council’s members include representation from independent pharmacies, chain pharmacies, American Pharmacy Cooperative, Inc., and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The council had its first meeting in September and committed to future meetings and support of a mentoring program for students interested in community pharmacy practice. The first Community Pharmacy Mentoring Group will take place this week in coordination with the school’s celebration of American Pharmacists Month.
